Bollywood Queen Aishwarya Rai appears in the role of a prostitute in a forthcoming Hollywood film, a remake of the French film Chaos. Meryl Streep and Brendan Fraser are the lead actors.
The story is about a newly-married couple and how the entry of a prostitute plunges their life into total chaos. The film will be shot extensively in India. Aishwarya continues to be as busy as ever even after her marriage.

Katrina Kaif has just returned from Egypt after shooting a song with her favourite co-star, Akshay Kumar, for the keenly awaited Singh Is Kinng, which is a fourth film with Akshay and will be released on fancy date 08-08-08.
And while Actress Katrina is delighted with the way the song has shaped up, she is even more charmed by Egypt and its culture. "It’s among the most beautiful countries I have visited - the pyramids, the temples and the landscape are absolutely exotic. I even enjoyed the barbecue dinner on a boat on the Nile. We shot in a number of places and I’ve come back with fond memories of my trip."
Ask her about the song she shot, Jee Karda, she smiles, "Wait and watch. It should be on air later this month. We shot at 4am every day to capture the light and it was scorching. To keep cool we would stay in shades and sip fruit juice or mint tea."

Dasavatharam has won the legal battle since Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking a direction to film certification authorities to change the title of the Kamal Hassan starrer ‘Dasavatharam’ and delete some scenes, paving the way for the movie’s release.
The petitioner, International Sri Vaishnava Dharma Samrakshanaa Society (SVDSS) represented by its President Swamy Govinda Ramanuja Dasan, had contended that the movie had scenes that offended Hindu sentiments, particularly that of Vaishnavites Justice K Venkatraman and M Satyanarayana of the Division Bench dismissed the case saying the name “Dasavatharam” was an ancient historical and religious one and nobody could object its usage since there was no intellectual property rights attached to it.
The Bench turned down all the allegations since the petitioners had not watched the movie their apprehension lack substance, the Bench said while dismissing the case.

Bollywood Actor Hrithik Roshan has been named the goodwill ambassador of NDTV Imagine’s new musical reality show “Junoon - Kuch Kar Dikhaane Ka” scheduled to start June 6. The actor would neither be hosting, judging or performing on the show. Hrithik would instead be a support system for the contending participants and teams on the show.
“I am very pleased to be associated with this show. I can identify with the participants and their desire to achieve success. I can relate to their positive and exuberant spirit because I believe I have a similar enthusiasm - be it for my work or my personal life," the Bollywood star said.
Executive vice president of NDTV Imagine, said: “Hrithik epitomises the passion, which is present in all the talented artists that are part of the show.”
The show, being hosted by Annu Kapoor of “Antakshari” fame would have three teams (each having six contestants) - folk, sufi and filmy - contesting to become the country’s most popular genre of music.

Actress Raima and Riya Sen are acting together as reel sisters, in Vicky Chopra’s Seasons Greetings. This film is directed by Vicky Chopra will apparently have six stories all coming together in unexpected ways. These two actresses are not discussing the project.
Raima, now shooting in Italy says, ’Yes, Riya and I are finally coming together as sisters. But I’m yet to hear the script, though I’ve given the nod. Though she’s quite mad, we’re very much alike in most respects.’
Riya, speaking about the project earlier, has said, ’Raima and I stay together in Mumbai. There is not a thing that we don’t share. All our friends are common. If she likes someone, so do I. And if I dislike someone, she doesn’t have a choice. Our friends say we should’ve been twins.’ The sisters had offers earlier to act together. ’But we were pretty sure that if and when we come together, it would have to be as sisters,’ said Riya.

Bollywood famous actor cum Bipasha pasu’s friend John Abraham changed from an actor to a singer. He performed live in Bandstand, Bandra, in the Western suburb of Mumbai, on Wednesday, May 28. The actor sang the song, Ab Hai Ujala, from his latest film, Aashayein, as the crowds delighted and girls were cheered.
“It was simply crazy. I think we underestimated John’s pull and his pursuit of excellence. I thought he’d come on stage croon a few lines, shake his hips in tight trousers, blow kisses and melt into the night. No way,” told Elahi Hiptoolah, executive producer of Aashayein.
John Abraham left the audiences spellbound after his performance, also, the director Nagesh Kukunoor joined him when audience compelled John to sing once more. “We hadn’t planned a big music launch and we certainly had no clue there was another music launch the same evening. We just wanted to do something different. So we thought of making all the singers including John perform their tracks from Aashayein live on stage. We never thought there would be such a massive turn-out, or that John would take his first live performance so seriously” she added.

With this movie, Karan will be reuniting Bollywood’s famous jodi, SRK- Kajol who’ve given many hit films like Dilwale dulhaniya le jaenge, kuch kuch hota hai, Kabhi khushi kabhi gham in the past.
The film for which Karan Johar has already taken the rights,is going to be shot in California, and is based on a true incident that occurred in a couple’s life. In the movie, Shahrukh will play the role of a Muslim who gets detained from a flight as authorities consider him a terrorist, for, his last name is Khan.

A chemical engineer by profession, Trinetra Bajpai returned from Britain, where he had lived for over 18 years, to India two years ago. A distant uncle of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is all set to foray into Bollywood. Now he has diversified, venturing into the entertainment sector with a company called Kanika Multiscope Pvt Ltd that aims to make films and serials.
"I have diversified into entertainment because of my wife Kanika, who was involved in TV serials and theatre. I have already made a serial Bikhri Aas Nikhri Preet for DD1. It is based on my mother’s novel Vyavdhaan. It’s a tribute to my mother who was a professor of Hindi in Banaras Hindu University," Bajpai said.
Ask him about his relationship with the former prime minister, who turned 83 in December last year, and Bajpai says: "We are distantly related. I am related to him from my father’s side. I am just 58 and still he is my nephew!" Bajpai is now set to produce five films.
"The films are at the scripting stage. Our first is going to be a historical. It will be about the golden period of Indian history. And the budget will be between Rs 500 million and Rs 1 billion. The rest of the details we will finalise after the scripting is over," he said.

Mention Singh Is Kinng and Katrina Kaif breaks into a smile. After all, that was yet another film with her favourite co-star Akshay Kumar. However, while she had a fabulous time shooting for the film, there are some experiences that still make her roll her eyes. While they were shooting for a song sequence in Egypt, the actress had a tough time dealing with the locals. “Nobody speaks a word of Hindi and English in Egypt. Still, they keep speaking to you despite knowing you cannot understand them,” said Kats. Apparently, while returning from Egypt, during the immigration check at the airport, she was busy speaking to a friend. She had her sunglasses on at the time. When the immigration officer came by and said something in Arabic, she assumed he was asking her to take off the shades. Kats promptly took them off, making the officer suspicious. She recounts, “He asked if I knew Arabic. When I said I didn’t, he thought I was lying. He insisted I knew the language but was pretending.”

In the film Sunny Deol-directed "The Man", Shilpa Shetty had to slap her co-star Sudhanshu Pandey. And if the latter is to be believed, the actress was very reluctant to do so.
"It was an emotional scene where I was supposed to console her and she was required to slap me in a fit of rage. But Shilpa was so reluctant and scared. She had to be literally convinced to slap me to get the shot right," Sudhanshu. he said that he had to ultimately hold her hand and make her slap him to be more comfortable with the shot. "It was funny as she still couldn’t do it. But since she had no option, she did it very lightly," he quipped.

Bollywood don Amitabh Bachchan along with his family walked barefoot to offer prayers at the Siddhivinayak Temple here on Tuesday. Bachchan, his son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Aishwarya started walking in the very early hours of Tuesday from their residence ’Jalsa’ at around 2:00 am.
Amitabh’s wife Jaya Bachchan joined them at the temple. The actor along with the team of ’Sarkar Raj’ went to seek the blessings of the deity for the success of the film. Based on a political scenario, ’Sarkar’ depicted power of a single man and his ways of giving justice to the ones in need.
Abhishek will be seen following his father’s footsteps. Aishwarya plays the role of a corporate honcho from London who wants to set up a power plant in a village of Maharashtra.
The story revolves around Abhishek (Shankar) who realizes the potential of the power plant and its benefit for the people. He eventually undertakes a journey to mobilize support of masses in the villages after convincing Sarkar (Amitabh), who is against the project for several reasons.
However, Abhishek’s dream project becomes a victim of dirty politics. Subsequently the disaster sets in as the evil forces conspire against the Sarkar’s long established political kingdom.

Bollywood hero, Shah Rukh Khan has asked the Central Govt. to remove the Value Added Tax (VAT) and Service Tax on the entertainment industry and sought the conferment of de-facto industry status today. Khan said that it is imperative to bring the entertainment industry under the "Concurrent List" so that it can be governed by Central rules and enjoy tax concessions announced by the latter from time to time.
At present, the entire entertainment and film industry comes under State Government’s jurisdiction because of which, it is unable to enjoy the dejure industry status conferred on it. Khan would release a study on the entertainment industry this evening, highlighting the need for the removal of VAT and Service Tax.
The study has been done by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham). In the study Assocham said, "Retaining the industry in the State List deprives the tax concessions given by the Centre." The Central Excise department under the Finance Act of 2007 has issued notices for the recovery of Service Tax from the industry in cases of renting, leasing and letting out immovable properties.

While producers and directors in Bollywood are gearing up to launch their children on the silver screen, Aamir Khan is keyed up about the launch of his nephew Imran Khan. Aamir, who’s launching Imran in his home production, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, is thrilled about the story of the film. It’s a love story and the perfectionist Khan believes that it has the right formula for a hit. He says, “Love is a very important emotion and love stories are more popular. Anyways, in a movie there has to be a romantic angle. That’s generally the popular culture.”
He adds, “I am not launching anyone with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. I am not making a film for one person. I think the film is important, not he person. I need to believe in the film and the story as a producer. I’ll cast according to the need. If he suits the role, he’ll be there.”
Aamir has successfully made his identity, as a director with Taare Zameen Par. The film was quite risky, as it didn’t adhere to the Bollywood ‘formula’. Despite that, it did well. He says, “It’s a challenge for me to do such films successfully and entertain the audiences regardless of the different subject. It’s very encouraging.”
He also commented on his injury as just another aspect one needs to cope with, being an actor. According to him, “As far as injuries are concerned, I have been working since 18 years and have been injured before. If the stunt is more difficult, the artiste shouldn’t do it.” Ask him how he wants o be known in the industry and he smiles back, “I want people to have fond memories of me as a actor, director and producer.” Now, that doesn’t sound too difficult.

Sherlyn Chopra will soon be seen in a video directed and choreographed by Remo D’souza who has choreographed several films and item songs. In the video Sherlyn will be seen in different avatars. In one she will be a ’Moulin Rouge’ performer while in another she will be a typical Bollywood item girl with all the associated jhatkaas and matkaas donning a diamond encrusted bikini.
DJ Akbar Sami has remixed and reworked the track to give it a house and club touch. "The original track ’Dard’ was more of a lounge track. While it was a great piece of music, it wasn’t of the dance variety. The success of an album and a music video is primarily based on the popularity it enjoys at discotheques and clubs. We have reworked Sherlyn’s original track to give it an international club and house feel."
The costumes have been especially designed by fashion designer Reza (of Devdas fame) with inputs from Sherlyn and Remo. "We worked on the look keeping in mind the music and the dance moves. Sherlyn is a great dancer and a sensual, movement comes very naturally to her. Keeping her plus points in mind I designed the costumes for her, which includes a traditional sequence, a bikini sequence and also an international sequence."

Hollywood movies come to Hindi India’s global movie distribution company Eros International and US-based studio Loinsgate, which signed a deal last week to distribute movies in India, South Asia and North America, have decided to re-make a few popular Hollywood hits in Hindi with top Bollywood stars. Kishore Lulla, MD of Eros International, said that they also plan to make movies jointly both in Hindi and English with their own distribution networks.
’In our joint venture deal, we will now be able to distribute Hindi movies from our library extensively in the US home video market with support from Lionsgate, and at the same time, we will help Lionsgate to distribute movies and TV series from their library in India and South Asia through our own network,’ he added. Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om, Anil Kapoor’s Gandhi My Father and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya, The Royal Guard are among 20 movies Lionsgate will distribute in the US. In return, Eros International will have access to Lionsgate’s 12,000-movie library and TV series for distribution in India as well as in South Asian countries.

Much preparation and hard work went into the shooting of Amisha Patel’s sensuous song in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic .
Contrary to rumours, Amisha Patel isn’t doing an item number in the film, but has a proper role, though a brief one. Apparently, she plays a girl whose match Rani Mukherjee tries to make with Saif Ali Khan .
What’s grabbing the eyeballs before the film’s release is the song “Lazy Lamhe” featuring Amisha in a yellow bikini designed by Manish Malhotra . However, shooting the song wasn’t a cakewalk for both Amisha and director Kunal Kohli .
The song was shot at a resort in Alibaug. Kohli initially planned to wrap the song within eight days. But it eventually took longer than that.
The number was set in and around a swimming pool. Since a part of the song shows Amisha going underwater, the actress had to train before doing the scenes. Also, Kohli got a special underwater camera to shoot those sequences.
However, when Amisha began to shoot, she developed fever because of repeatedly going into cold water in the month of January. Then, Kohli found a way out. He planned to heat up the pool’s water before shooting. This doubled the task of the production team but the result was eventually achieved.
Finally, the song that was meant to be shot in 8 days was canned in two week’s time.

Bollywood’s ‘bahurani’ Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set once again to star in a Hollywood flick, this time with the Oscar winner Meryl Streep. The movie is an adaptation of a French film, Chaos, and focuses on the distress that upshoots when a young prostitute, unintentionally, intrudes into the life of a modern middle class couple.
None other than Ash will be playing the role of a prostitute, who suffers physical and mental torture. The film emphasizes on the struggle that the prostitute has to make for her survival, her resurrection and dignity.
Although the film’s name has not been officially announced yet, reports confirmed both Aishwarya and Meryl as a part of the project.

The release date of the John Abraham-starrer Aashayein has been pushed forward as the actor is busy with his brother’s wedding in Romania.
Elahi Hiptoola, director Nagesh Kukunoor’s associate and co-producer on the project, confirmed these developments saying: "We did feel that we needed a couple of weeks extra, what with John’s brother’s marriage. We’re moving to July, probably the first week."

It’s sad yet true. Sanjay Gupta’s much waited and hyped flick, Acid Factory, will showcase Dia Mirza as ‘bomb’ replacing its previously finalized diva Bipasha Basu.
With elapsing time and increasing expectation from audience Bipasha had already visualized the releasing day of the flick. The proud Dia, replacing the bong beau, exclaims, “In all my previous films I have portrayed common and very normal girls.I am quite happy and excited about my present offer of a hot character with which I can play a completely different role from my previous ones.”
Being the only heroine to show her glitz amongst the six Bollywoody hunks, Dia is already flying high in the sky. She underlines the fact that having no other feminine competitor in the flick she is doubly sure of getting all the whistles and winking gazes at herself only.
I have done all my stunt scenes in the film myself only. During the shoot I got the chance of playing with guns for the first time in my life and I really enjoyed it”, Dia explains exuberantly.

On the sets of Sarkar Raj, when Ramu told little B to speak to villagers convincingly about any subject, while the actual dialogue would be dubbed later in the recording studio, he chose to talk about sex.
As soon as the director called ‘action’, Abhi began to give some sex education to the villagers. He spoke about the process of reproduction, the safety measures and also different positions of making out.
All was well until the villagers, who were instructed to look serious, started laughing aloud when they finally understood what Abhishek was telling them. They all tried hard not to laugh.
Ramu, who was at a distance, didn’t know what was going on and why everybody was suddenly laughing when they were not supposed to. He immediately called ’Cut’ and walked up to them.
That’s when Ramu realized that Abhishek is in his jocular mood again.

“I still remember the day when my brother Sohail Khan , who always dreams big, thinks different, brought the proposal to anchor a show for Sony Entertainment Television. I had my reservations. The idea sounded so impractical that I rejected it even without giving it much thought. All my decisions are based on my instinct and some people think that I am too moody and cynical. But believe me I have been guided by my instincts and my heart all my life! I do not depend too much on intelligence, analysis and calculations…However, Sohail, the eternal optimist, and family friend Ajay Chhabaria have tremendous patience and endless power of persuasion. They kept asking me to look into the format closely. Their patience and perseverance paid dividends,” Salman writes.
About what attracted him to the show, Salman writes: “What attracted me to the format of 10 Ka Dum is that there is no false shame and sense of humiliation if your answer is wrong…The second thing that attracted me to the format is the informality of the show -- it goes to such an extent that the role of anchor and contestants are reversed at times and also interchangeable.”
Salman added that soon, ‘10 Ka Dum’ ceased to be a format or a chat show for him. “It became my thanks-giving to millions of my fans who have showered their love and blessings to a rather reluctant star.”

It may be recalled that the Koffee With Karan episode, which had Rakhi as the guest, was among the most watched episodes ever. With Rakhi now in the host’s seat, one would be keenly looking forward to see who does most of the talking-the host or the guests? Your guess is as good as ours.

The debacle of Tashan have hurt Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor like never before. The Bollywood bomb Mallika Sherawat is now emotional! Though it is very rare for her to show that side of her, considering the cut-throat competition in the film industry, she recently did so when she completed the shooting of Maan Gaye Mughall-E- Azam!
Sherawat threw a party to the cast and crew on the last day of the shooting. She made it a point to invite the 120 member crew including the cast personally. It was her way of thanking them for the hard work during the making of the film. What also moved her was the spirit of unit members that worked as team for the film.
Confirming that Mallika threw a party for the entire cast and crew of Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam producer Ratan Jain said, "It was a surprise that we will never forget! Malaika Arora: I think Mallika has become a favourite punching bag in the press. Leave the girl alone. It’s ridiculous. Maybe the moral police in the south should take a closer look at their own films for obscenity.
Rahul Khanna: I feel sad for the moral police. Perhaps they’re jealous of Mallika’s legs. They seem to have a lot of free time on hand - why not use it for issues more important than the length of skirts?
Hema Malini: I was there in Chennai. Mallika’s dress was looking good. She too was looking very good. But perhaps the dress was a little too short for the occasion. Who knows!
Amrita Arora: It’s ridiculous. What’s wrong with wearing a short skirt? And why only target Mallika for it? Girls in colleges and work places across the country are wearing them. Go get all of them, you moral cops! By the way there’re much more serious things to be done.
Diya Mirza: I think they’ve no right to comment on Mallika. I think they should instead give attention to the sleaze content in some of their films. Stop pointing fingers at someone just because you’ve nothing better to do.
Pooja Bedi: I think the more importance the media gives to such people, the more such cases we’ll see. The quickest route to fame is to sue celebrities. Morality is so subjective. Do these moralists want to take us back to the days of the purdah? And should their standards of morality be applicable to society? Was there a dress code at the music event? Nandana Sen: It’s absurd! Mallika is beautiful and has a style of her own. How can anyone have the right to say that style is wrong? Should we all start wearing uniforms now to make everyone happy? Clothes are one of the ways in which a person expresses her or his individuality. Dictating what another individual wears is as ridiculous as a third party forbidding you, a writer, from choosing certain topics, or me, an actor, from taking on certain roles.
What’s the issue with Mallika’s clothes? If the concern is protecting women’s dignity, why don’t we create a safe and protective environment so that little girls aren’t thrown into fires for stepping beyond boundaries that should never have been set up?
After completion of movie Kuselan with Superstar Rajinikanth, actress Sneha is off to California, United States to start the shooting of Achchamundu Achchamundu starring Prasanna in the lead. Directed by Arun Vaidyanathan, the film is about a software engineer who takes his newly-wed bride to the Land of Opportunity and their experiences there.
The director instructs all his artists including the hero and heroine to attend the rehearsal before the shooting. To make the Hero Prasanna perfectly suitable to the role, the director sent him 15 days earlier to the actual departure of the crew to the US to practice driving on the right side of the road and to take training to speak proper American slang.
These trainings will be provided to Sneha also for 10 days before the shooting. Arun is planned to release the film worldwide like a Hollywood movie with nearly 600 prints with the help of a Hollywood filmmaker. It is mentionable that Hollywood actor John Shea is playing as villain in this film.

After directing two thrillers ’Ek Hasina Thi’ and ’Johnny Gaddar’, Sriram Raghavan is ready with his third script, which is a romantic film. The director says he is waiting for dates from Aishwarya Rai and John Abraham to start the film.
’I wanted to start the shoot in March but the script was not ready. Now, I am waiting for the dates from the actors,’ Raghavan told.
He also said that Aishwarya had glanced through the script and given her consent. Taking a break from his favourite thriller genre, Raghavan is attempting a love story which will be produced by Rohan Sippy.
Apart from this, Raghavan is also working on actor Saif Ali Khan’s first production titled ’Agent Vinod’.
About the status of ’Agent Vinod’, Raghavan said: ’I can only tell about this after I get the dates of shoot for Sippy’s project.’
Saif will play the lead in the film, which is again a thriller.

Tania, who has done marginal roles in films by Bollywood’s biggest production house Yashraj Films , finds herself in the middle of a controversy after the news reports that she purportedly had sex with Australian soldiers while touring a military base in Afghanistan last month with a group of entertainers.
The news reports were based on a leaked draft note of Australian Defence ministry.However, Tania, who is based in London, has been shocked by the allegations and has denied the reports in strong words.
"It’s complete made-up lies. Apart from being hurtful it’s damaging to a woman’s career, to her reputation and I wish someone had come and asked me before there was any documentation.
“Perhaps I do feel like I need an apology because not only my family name but my career which I have worked very hard for is suddenly at stake here," Zaetta is quoted as saying in a statement from London.
Zaetta goes on to say that she was never alone with any soldiers and that an escort accompanied her even when she went to toilets at the military base.After Tania’s strong denial, the Australian defense dept has issued an unreserved apology to her and an inquiry is being made into leaked briefing note.
Tania entered Bollywood with a role in hit Bollywood movie Salaam Namaste in 2005. She also played a small role in another hit Bunty Aur Babli . Earlier this month, Tania was seen playing a role a la Charlie’s Angels in Mr. White Mr. Black .

Superstar Rajini is almost completed his works for his forthcoming Kuselan and preparing himself to fly off to US for taking make up tests for his year 2009 magnum opus Robot. According to the sources, Rajinikanth and his director Shankar are travelling to Hollywood to try out new looks for this Rs.1300 Million mega sci-fi thriller Robot. The new look and the makeup for it is expected to cost over Rs.30 million.
Robot Rajini will have Aishwarya Bachchan as his lady love for the first time and the actress has already allotted 6 months bulk dates continuously for a whopping Rs.60 million. The movie is a joint venture by Entertainment giants like Ayngaran and Eros and AR Rahman will compose the music for this flick.
The first photo shoot for the film by famous Chennai fashion and portfolio photographer G Venket Ram was held in mid-February and redesigned by Soundarya Rajinikanth as per the instructions of the director.
On the other hand, Gemini Colour Labs, one of the famous labs in Chennai has started its renovation work for the convenient of Rajini, Shankar and Robot team. It has made sure that Robot crew does not have to shuttle Chennai to Mumbai to get better amenities to give the best treatment to the film. Delhi model cum actress Meera Chopra has been chosen as the heroine for Arjun starring Darshan in the lead. The film is being produced by Jayanna and is directed by Sahuraj Shinde who had earlier directed Darshan’s flick Snehaanaa Preethinaa. Meera Chopra is now busy in Tamil and Telugu films and she is now making her debut in the Kannada film industry. The Kolkata Knight Riders owner, Shah Rukh Khan, may not attend the team’s next (and last) match at home, against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, too. He was not present at the Eden last night either.
Shah Rukh has, among other things, conveyed that to the team via an emotional, highly motivational and lengthy SMS this afternoon. He also dismissed talk of differences between him and captain Sourav Ganguly and coach John Buchanan.
The team is in the capital for tomorrow’s Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against the Delhi DareDevils.

Salman Khan who made news for physically assaulting Katrina Kaif at Bandstand Barrista, a coffee shop in Bandra, couple of months back Salman Khan slapped Katrina second time during the shooting of Subhash Ghai’s Yuvraj.
Reportedly, he was not happy with Katrina’s cozy picture with Akshay Kumar at the IPL match and questioned her for a long time inside his vanity van. According to a reliable source, the couple had been locked inside Salman’s van for three long hours and heard screaming at her from inside the van. While Katrina tried to explain him something, Salman kept on abusing her continuously.
Only, Salman’s voice of screaming and abusing Katrina was audible and nothing arrogant reply from Katrina could be heard. When Katrina came out from the van, her eyes were seen moist. Tanushree’s dreams of becoming the first actress to work with Khali have been shattered. Her excitement to work with Khali in her forthcoming film Rama The Savior was over, when debutant actress Shama Sikandar snatched the opportunity away from her.
On the development, on shooting for the promotional song of the movie Dhoom Dadakka with Khali, extremely overjoyed Shama says, “I am just back from Madurai yesterday. Sonal Chauhan, who recently made her Bollywood debut in Jannat , was at the Jet Airways counter to collect her boarding pass when 24-yr-old Sahil Zaroo, who has known her for a few years, approached her and got into an argument with her.
According to the police version of what happened, Sahil snatched Sonal’s mobile and tried to embrace her forcibly. When she resisted, he slapped her.Sonal’s father was also present when the incident happened.
The CISF personnel reportedly took Sahil into their custody and later handed him over to Santa Cruz airport police that charged him for outraging the modesty of a woman, causing hurt and damages, and trespassing into airport premises.On Wednesday, the Andheri magistrate remanded Sahil to two days police custody for the offence.Sahil was previously arrested two years ago by Delhi police for allegedly supplying drugs to Rahul Mahajan, son of the late politician Pramod Mahajan.

The better way of treating the lead actor of the film that arranging a special screening for exclusively him and his beau. That is what Kunal Kohli has done for his ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’. He invited Saif and his new found love Kareena Kapoor for the special screening of this Saif-Rani Mukherjee starrer at Yashraj Studios. After this, Kohli also arranged another screening for Rani Mukherjee who loved the film no less than Saif did.
‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ tells the story of four orphans who hate Saif. Rani plays an angel who wants to bring love into the kids’ lives, but the irony is that she can’t love. Co-produced by Kohli himself, ‘TPTM’ is set for release on June 27.

Post Jannat, Emraan Hashmi is grinning from ear to ear. Jannat has come as a breather for producer Mukesh Bhatt, debut director Kunal Deshmukh and debut writer Vishesh Bhatt, too.
"I was hurt, I was angry after Awarapan,” says Emraan. "The film hadn’t worked and people had written me off. I had to prove my detractors wrong. The lull that followed only helped. I wanted to come back with a vengeance."
And it has been a terrific comeback for the talented actor. Three weeks ago, the presence of Akshay, Saif and Kareena couldn’t ensure a good start for Tashan. Big B and SRK couldn’t give Bhoothnath the nudge it needed to open to full houses either. However, the excellent start of Jannat caught traders by surprise.
"I was shocked as well,” says Emraan. “Various factors went in favour of Jannat-the buzz was very strong, the promos had meat and the posters were attractive.”
What about his popularity with the youth? "Everything falls into place if the film is good. And I always had the gut feeling that Jannat would click in a big way," he says.

Producer Oscar Ravichandran has confirmed that Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam will release on June 6 worldwide.
The case against the film filed by Sri Vaishnava Dharma Samraakshana Society seeking to restrain the release of movie on the ground that some scenes in the film offended the feelings of Hindus has been challenged by its producer V.Ravichandran.
In the counter affidavit filed by Oscar Ravi in the Madras High Court it was made clear that the allegations mentioned in the petition were based on pure imagination as no such scenes that would hurt the sentiments of Hindus were there in the film. The further hearing of the case has been postponed to May 27.
The court has not put any restriction on the release of the film. Ravi says June 6 is a good day to release the film worldwide in 1000 screens in three languages Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Ravi is planning to start a publicity campaign of the film from May 30. He will be advertising on Sony Max during the semi-finals and finals of the DLF-IPL cup.

People in India are crazy about the game too. But besides watching the game, I am enjoying cheering for the team too."
Katrina, who shot a music video with Sanjay Gupta for Vijay Mallya’s Royal Challengers, said that she enjoyed that experience too. "I have started enjoying the experience of dancing especially after the success of Race. Earlier it was not so! But today whether it is to dance to cheer for the IPL team or do it for the movies, I have begun to enjoy it. It helps me unwind on screen and on stage. Yes, I have recently started enjoying dancing on stage too. I realized that when I performed for the Zee Awards. Earlier I did not have the songs or the confidence to perform on stage. Now I have a bit of both," she says smiling.

International music composer A R Rahman will be presented with a life time achievement award by International Indian Film Academy (IIFA).
The award would be presented to Rahman on 6 June at a grand function to be held at Bangkok. The award is being presented to Rahman for his immense contribution to promote Indian film music abroad and also making a mark internationally.

Bollywood followers may remember that when Corporate was being planned, Madhur Bhandarkar had first approached Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the role of film’s central protagonist Nishigandha. Since the film required someone with grace coupled with glamour to be enacting the key role, Aishwarya seemed to be just the right choice. However, due to date problems, Aishwarya couldn’t be a part of the film and Bipasha Basu was roped in pronto as a replacement.
Says an industry insider on condition of anonymity, "It appears that Ash always carried a secret desire of doing a role where she could play a corporate woman. This is why when Ram Gopal Varma approached her for Sarkar Raj, she was all for it. However, though this could very much be a coincidence, it is pretty apparent that Aishwarya’s wardrobe and look pretty much seems to be based on the one that Bipasha carried in Corporate.
Ram Gopal Varma is hardly amused and instead replies nonchalantly, "In a corporate world, you do dress up in a certain way. You can’t walk in like a dolled up heroine or straight from a marriage procession. Anyone familiar with the corporate world knows that it is mandated for senior professionals to be wearing smart business casuals. This is what Aishwarya Rai also wears since she plays a personnel who represents the top management. What else could she have been shown wearing?"
With trademark Ramu humor, the maverick director goes on to conclude, "Whether it is Bipasha Basu, Ash or anyone before or after them, each of them would be seen in a similar attire in a role like this. You’re sizzling in this new avtar. What brought about the transition?
There’s no transition. It’s just a look I sport for a song in Anil Kapoor’s Shortkut. And the credit goes to Anil, Manish Malhotra who’s styled my look, and Bosco-Ceasar who’ve choreographed the song. As an actress, I’m just their canvas.
Were you apprehensive about carrying off such a look?
Not at all. I think every girl has a sensuous side. In fact, sensuality completes a woman. But for me sensuality is incomplete without a woman’s grace and dignity. As long as I am comfortable, I can carry off any look.
Is it a conscious effort to move away from your girl-next-door image?
No, nothing of that sort. It’s just that as an actress I get to play and discover many facets to my personality. And they are just extensions of who I am or I can be, but not the real me. Once the arclights turn off and I hear pack up... I’m back to being myself, a girl-next-door. I’m not interested in earning a new image.

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has stated that she will not accept roles where she has to show her skin. Sonam will next be seen opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Delhi 6.
“All I’ll say is I’d never do anything to compromise myself or my family, or any film where I’ve to cringe at the premiere,” said Sonam. She was referring to Anurag Basu’s Kites which made her baulk at the amount of skin show it required. The role is being essayed by Latin actor Barbara Morris.

Bollywood wonder boy Shahid Kapoor will not be seen in public for the foreseeable future.
According to reports, Shahid is developing a new physique and hairstyle for the role of Romeo in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next, based on Romeo and Juliet. “The actor is developing a new look for Vishal’s movie and doesn’t want to make public appearances prior to its release. He is planning to do something out of the ordinary. Shahid wants to go the Aamir way and is spending a lot of time preparing for the role,” says a source.
Shahid’s next release will be Milenge Milenge, in which he co-stars with his ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

Bollywood leading actor Hrithik ’s father Rakesh Roshan isn’t too comfortable with the prospect of his son kissing another woman in his home production.
Director of Kites, Anurag Basu is trying to get permission from the film’s producer Rakesh Roshan for a steamy scene between Hrithik and Italian star Barbara Mori. The exact scene would feature a 2 minute lip-lock followed by 3 minutes of foreplay. This is essential for the film’s story and Anurag Basu wants to include it to make the film look more real. However, father Rakesh is not happy to show his son in a home production performing lewd acts. He believes it goes against the whole Film Kraft family image.
A source on the project says, “All of Anurag’s films are real. He doesn’t shy away from portraying intimacy on screen. Most of his films have had intimate scenes and he believes the same holds true for Kites. Rakesh Roshan isn’t too sure if Basu’s treatment will work for Kites. He isn’t too comfortable with the prospect of his son kissing another woman in his home production. The two have been arguing over the issue.”

Ayesha Takia has been in the news of late for more reasons than one - her alleged liposuction procedure to get into shape, for setting up a boutique hotel in Goa with boyfriend Farhan Azmi, and also her impending marriage to him later in the year.
The pretty actress, who has finally shed all those extra kilos she had piled on, is now looking svelte .
Refuting all the rumours about her liposuction rumours Ayesha says, "There has been a lot of talk about my liposuction of late. I just decided to hit the gym and lose all the excess weight I had put on and I even set up a gym in my house. I am taking great care of what I eat and I really don’t know where all these liposuction rumours came from!" she says.
So when does she plan to get married to Farhan? "We have been in love for two years now and I have never denied that. But there’s time for our marriage and I will most definitely be getting married to him! Though it’s not anytime soon. We are just planning to set up our hotel and hopefully it will be ready by next season. I will let everybody know when I am getting married. I am busy with my business plans," she adds.
Ayesha’s last few films have not done so well at the box office. "Yes, they have not but I am looking ahead to great films this year. I am being selective about the films I am doing now. There is E. Niwas’ De Taali, Ahmed Khan’s Paathshala, Nagesh Kukunoor’s Tasveer and Boney Kapoor’s Wanted. De Taali is all set to release. I loved the tagline of the film which says "Fall in love with friends". It’s a lovely film on friendship. The chemistry between all of us actors is great too. Also I am working with my favorite actor Ritesh, who is a pretty crazy character in the film. We were a young bunch of people on the sets and we had great fun together," smiles Ayesha.

’My co-stars were a talented Pakistani actor Momin Rana ... and Jackie Shroff - good old Jaggu Dada whom I really get along with. A nice mix of the new and the familiar ... Just the way I want in my life at this time.’
And Manisha reveals that there is a new man in her life whom she has been seeing for some months now.’He’s an American and a very spiritual person. I’ve never been happier. Beyond that I don’t want to say anything about him until I’m sure about where the relationship is going.’
Manisha was in Bangkok for three months as she was looking after her father Prakash Koirala, who was unwell and had to be hospitalised.’My dad was critically ill. How ill? You can judge from the fact that he was in hospital for two months.’
’My mother, my brother Siddharth and his wife Yulie were by his side throughout. I also had no desire to leave his side. Nothing seemed more important than his health. I just wanted him to get well. Now he’s on the way to recovery. We’ve brought him back to Mumbai where his medication will continue.
’We were all together when my father fell ill. I saw how my mother looked after my father. Some day in the near future I hope to be an equally good wife and mother.’Manisha’s father, who was a minister during King Gyanendra’s rule, had to move out of their home in Nepal due to political unrest.
’Things aren’t very smooth-sailing for us Koiralas in Nepal,’ Manisha said cautiously. ’Besides I wanted my father to get the best health care possible. Bangkok seemed the best bet.’
In her absence, a rather sweet film ’Sirf’, where she played a neglected wife to Kay Kay Menon, was released.
’It was a good film. Though an ensemble piece, I liked my role and enjoyed doing it. I was too concerned about my dad to care about my career. I don’t know what happened to the film. I dubbed and left for Malaysia to shoot, and then for Bangkok to attend to my dad.’

And we’ve shot a series of ads with Vidya and me.For the last one week I’ve been running in and out Mumbai and Chennai. During the day-time I’m in Chennai shooting for a Tamil film. Then I take a night flight to Mumbai to dub for the ads.”Curiously Maddy and Vidya have hardly shot together for these ads about love and togetherness. “We’ve just done one shot together. The rest has been shot with the two of us separately. It’s strange people have noticed so much chemistry between us when we aren’t even together in the ad.My wife Sarita loves the ad. She thinks Vidya is better than me in the ad.But then she’s my harshest critic.
All three of us Sarita, Vedant and I adore Vidya.”Vidya has done ads prior to her acting career. This is her first ad post-stardom.She thoroughly enjoyed doing this new yet old experience. “Years ago I was supposed to do Tamil film with Maddy. Then we were also supposed to do a Deepa Mehta film together.I think Maddy and I were destined to special things in limited space. Both of us had cameos in Mani Ratnam’s Guru. People still talk about our romantic scene in the rain (including a kiss). Now the Airtel ads. It’s unbelievable how much chemistry people have seen between us in those few seconds. I always say it’s the moments that make a romance.

Shahid Kapoor is a thorough professional and will not let anything come between him and his work. Not even lousy stories that are circulated in print.
The actor, however, wishes to clarify his stand on a story printed in a tabloid recently. It said that how Vidya (Balan) and Shahid had gone out for lunch and did not return for over three hours bringing the shooting of Ken Ghosh’s new untitled film produced by UTV to a standstill.
But a close friend of Shahid’s clarified saying, "Vidya, his co star from Kismat Konnection and a very dear friend, had dropped in to say Hi after which they proceeded to catch a quick lunch during the lunch time which lasted for 45 mins. As a professional Shahid would never hold up work for hours on end just to have lunch with a friend. This story is completely untrue".
Recently there was also another report that Shahid interferes in the shooting of the film and likes calling the shoots for the same.
Ken Ghosh clarifies this baseless story. Says Ken, "Shahid is a thorough professional. This is a very stupid story. Shahid has never interfered in my work and in any of my films shooting, and to suggest it’s as good as insulting my capability as a director. I and Shahid are good buddies; we bounce of ideas of each other. It is not interference. Shahid is intelligent, thinking and a professional actor."

Yash Raj Films is, and will always be, home for me, and who doesn’t love coming home? Yashji and Adi have always given me roles that have gotten me love and appreciation from fans all over the world. On visiting Cannes, Amitabh Bachchan has said the family was there to be with daughter-in-law Aishwarya, who is a brand ambassador of L’Oreal, and to spend quality time with one another.
"We went to the opening with her (Aishwarya) and a few films together, but mostly it is to be with family because we’ve all been away from each other for a long time in different parts of the world. It’s lovely to just be together and catch up, before we drift away to our respective schedules," Amitabh said.
On being asked if he is in Cannes, the actor replied, "Yes I am in Cannes and with the family. This is a private visit and there are no films I am representing. I believe there was an article criticising us for not visiting the India pavilion. Well, firstly, this is a private visit and moreover, no one has invited us. And secondly, I am a little wary of government invitations. They invite you to be chief guest at a function and when you arrive there, tell you you are not invited."
"We are here to be with Aishwarya, who is here in an official capacity as brand ambassador for L’Oreal. We went to the opening with her and a few films together, but mostly it is to be with family because we’ve all been away from each other for a long time in different parts of the world. It’s lovely to just be together and catch up before we drift away to our respective schedules," he added.

Vibrant and cheerful film actor Juhi Chawla loves being in superstar Shah Rukh Khan`s company as he gives her great joy. On being asked whether she prefers Shah Rukh as a friend, as a co-actor or as a business partner, Juhi flashed her mn- dollar smile and replied:
`I like Shah Rukh everywhere! `He is a sharp person and great fun to be with. He is great in whatever he does and, yes, he is truly a joy.Juhi was here last week to launch the `Bhootnath` collection for Biba, a fashion retail outlet.
Besides acting, it is her involvement in the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches that sets her pulse racing. Juhi, who is co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team along with Shah Rukh, said: `IPL is really exciting but it is also stressful for me.`
Dressed in a simple kurti and pants with no accessories, Juhi spoke about her recently released film `Bhootnath`. The initial response to the film has not been good, but Juhi asserted that it was being appreciated the world over.
`I am so happy that the film is being appreciated. I had a great time working with the child (Aman Siddiqui) and Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) and it is a special film for me,` she said. `Bhootnath` is a story based on the relationship of a child with his deceased grandfather, a kind ghost whom the child gradually befriends.
Juhi and Shah Rukh play Aman`s parents in the film. Since the film was centred on Amitabh and Aman, didn`t she feel overshadowed?
`I have been asked about this many times but, frankly, I could neither have played the ghost nor the child! So there is nothing like being overshadowed in the film.
`I feel that as long as we play our given parts well, we are noticed and our work is also appreciated,` Juhi said.
Talking about her future projects, Juhi said she was playing the role of a fortune-teller in Aziz Mirza`s `Kismet Konnection`.
`It`s a small role but a very different one,` she said.

Bollywood girl Rakhi Sawant came to Mumbai from Delhi to try her luck in Bollywood as an actress.
But after doing more than 56 item numbers in Bhojpuri films and some hot numbers in Bollywood, Sambhavna Seth could only attain the title of item symbol and item girl.
Not content with bagging an award for her item number in a Bhojpuri film recently, she continues with her quest for meaty roles in Bollywood. On her recent visit to the city, she tells NT how she plans to make her dreams come true.
ON NAGPUR
This is Sambhavna’s third visit to the city in the last two years. Ask her the reason for the frequent visits and she replies, "Nagpurians actually pamper me a lot. I am in constant touch with some of my fans here through the phone and e-mails. Now they are like my family members."

Upset over the fact that Rakhi Sawant recently snatched the dance number that she was supposed to do in Shakir Sheikh’s film Mudrank, Sambhavna says, "Two days before the song, ’Money money touch me honey’ was to be shot, I was told that Rakhi was doing that number and I was asked to do another song in the film. That girl is selfish and insecure." Calling Rakhi a phoney, Sambhavna continues, "She gathers publicity through cheap talks. Her going public about her silicon implants was yuck."
HIDDEN DESIRES
Sambhavna is all set to sizzle the screen with six dance numbers in Bollywood in her forthcoming films. But she says that she wants to shed the bomb tag. "I wish to work with crème de la crème directors of the industry and would like to be recognised as an accomplished actress. It is all a matter of time and luck I guess," says she and adds, "there is nothing wrong in being an item girl, but people like Rakhi have made this genre very cheap."

Reliance Big Entertainment, the media and entertainment company of Reliance ADA Group, on Sunday announced a slew of deals with production firms of Hollywood stars including Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and Jim Carrey, marking its entry into the Mecca of films.
At a conference here, Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE) chairman Amit Khanna said: "This initiative will yield up to 30 scripts in the next two years. We are confident that at least 10 of them will go into production during the period."
The Hollywood entities involved in the development deals, brokered by Los Angeles-based Creative Artists Agency (CAA), are Cage`s Saturn Productions, Carrey`s JC 23 Entertainment, Clooney`s Smokehouse Productions, Columbus` 1492 Pictures, Hanks` Playtone Productions, Pitt`s B Entertainment and Roach`s Everyman Pictures.
Terming this as the beginning of the company`s engagement with international film productions, Khanna said, "these deals alone have the potential of creating a slate of films worth USD 1 billion."
According to president RBE Rajesh Sawhney: "this is an announcement of the reach and potential of India`s steadily growing soft power. Reliance is paving the way and we are sure other Indian companies will also join the charge."
Sawhney added: "we respect the first-look deals that each of our partners enjoys (with the Hollywood majors), and we are confident that the respective studios will welcome our development silos and our subsequent co-financing ability."
"We will look at each silo and each film project differently," said Khanna.
Khanna said, the Hollywood partners would be a dedicated amount to develop films that they want to work in and then the films would go into production depending upon how the scripts shape up.
Dismissing suggestion that Reliance big was aiming to take on the Hollywood majors Khanna said: "we are not here to compete. We are here to collaborate. The global film production space is being redefined and we want to be at the forefront."
Asked whether any of the development deals would yield India-themed films, RBE`s creative consultant Prasoon Joshi said: "there would be no preconditions on our partners, but yes, we do hope our association with these Hollywood creative forces will eventually lead to the emergence of India-themed international films as well."

Here comes yet another twist in Chote Kapoor and Miss Padukone. Recently Deepika was quoted that she had "happily" accepted Ranbir’s proposal back in November. It was also reported that Deepika claimed that she will be "Mrs Kapoor and leading lady of Bollywood" in next five years.
However, their family members are not aware of any such engagement and marriage plans and think that Deepika was misquoted. "We are not even aware of this development and nobody has told us anything. That’s because it is just not true!" said Prakash Padukone. Ranbir’s sister Riddhima claimed Ranbir was shocked to hear this news. She said "These are all stupid rumours. I don’t know where they get such bizarre news from! Deepika seems to have been misquoted and nothing of the sort has happened. Ranbir is out of India for a film shoot and he was so surprised when he heard about this. In fact, he was shocked! Both of them have a long way to go and it is just the beginning of their careers!" However, she did not rule out possibility of Ranbir and Deepika’s marriage in future by saying "Marriage to bahut dur ki baat hai".
Neetu Singh, Ranbir’s mother said that she does not anymore react to such rumors "...because I have gone through this myself and with my husband. I have been connected to some hero or the other."
Misquoted or not, Deepika and Ranbir have a good career ahead and are not likely to marry, soon. Right now they and Bollywood fans are looking forward to their forthcoming movie Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja’s on-screen pairing has caught the attention of a lot of people, including director Ashutosh Gowarikar. The real-life couple is in advanced talks with the director for his next film, which is supposedly based on an English play.
While Priyanka and Harman look great together, we will have to wait to see if it translates to an equally good chemistry in Love Story 2050 as well.
If sources are to be believed, both Priyanka and Harman liked their roles in Gowarikar’s new film. A well-placed source from the industry said, “As things stand now, there is no reason for the cast to be changed.”
However, a close friend of Harman confirmed the story and said, “Yes, Priyanka and Harman are in talks with Ashutosh for his film."
The buzz is that Gowarikar has bought the rights of the English play.
Priyanka and Harman’s Love Story 2050 is all set to hit the theatres on July 4. It is a futuristic love story and Harry Baweja has gone all the way to make his son Harman’s debut vehicle look as slick as possible with impressive SFX. Recently, Priyanka was shooting in Miami for Karan Johar’s Dostana (directed by newcomer Tarun Mansukhani) but she made it a point to fly down to Mumbai for the music release of Love Story 2050. Maybe the two should finally stop insisting that they are ‘just good friends’.

Amisha Patel recently opted out of Priyadarshan’s latest film, Billo Barber which she had signed with much fanfare as she felt the size of the role wasn’t befitting her talent. The Shah Rukh Khan-Irrfan Khan starrer is a remake of the Malayalam film, Katha Parayumbol and revolves around a humble village Barber (Irrfan) and his superstar friend (SRK). Amisha was to play the barber’s wife. She felt that the film’s focus was the friendship between SRK and Irrfan’s characters. The latest rumour doing the rounds is that it was because of Aditya Chopra’s friendly advice that she backed out of the film.
Apparently, Aditya is a friend, philosopher and guide. She has also signed a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films so they want to make sure her career moves are just right and should not affect their future projects with her.
Amisha’s desire to work with SRK is intact and the buzz is that in one of the YRF projects, she may just play his leading lady. And anyway, she’s doing a special dance number in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Amisha certainly seems to be giving her almost extinct career a new lease of life. Well, it definitely pays to be in the good books of a filmmaker who has one of the most viable production houses and boasts of hits like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Chak De in recent times.

Success in Bollywood has as much to do with luck as it has to do with hard work. Not even an overly-dedicated actor like Aamir Khan is an exception to this rule.
In fact, Aamir believes that veteran Yahoo actor Shammi Kapoor has been his good luck charm right from his debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak - when Aamir had sought Shammi’s blessings - to the more recent Taare Zameen Par. Little wonder, then, that Aamir’s not taking any chances for his latest production Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, that marks the debut of his nephew Imran Khan.
Resisting the temptation to host a lavish party for the music launch of the film, Aamir’s planning to make it a more intimate affair by going to Shammi’s house on May 20 and presenting him with a copy of the film’s music that’s been composed by AR Rahman. Incidentally, Shammi is an old family friend having worked in classics like Teesri Manzil and Tum Sa Nahi Dekha which were produced by Aamir’s uncle Nasir Hussain.
Says Aamir, “Shammiji’s blessings are important. He has been a guiding force since a long time and has been very close to our family. It’s a kind of ritual for us to go and present him the first copy of the music. This time it’s Imran’s launch and it’s all the more important.”

Bollywood actress Katrina, who shot a music video with Sanjay Gupta for Vijay Mallya’s Royal Challengers, said that she enjoyed that experience quite a lot.
"I have started enjoying the experience of dancing especially after the success of Race. Earlier it was not so! But today whether it is to dance to cheer for the IPL team or do it for the movies, I have begun to enjoy it. It helps me unwind on screen and on stage", says Katrina.
Talking about her stage experience, she adds, "Yes I have recently started enjoying dancing on stage too. I realized that when I performed for the Zee Awards. Earlier I neither had songs nor the confidence to perform on stage. Now I have a bit of both."
Making the first move to put an end to the much-publicised "strained" relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has said he wishes to apologise if there has been a lapse or error on his part. "It is hurtful and unwanted and I wish to bring with all sincerity a final end to this much imagined ugliness," Bachchan wrote on his blog.
"Despite numerous clarifications and denials from both Shah Rukh and myself through the electronic and the print medium there seems to be no letting up," Bachchan lamented.
Clarifying his earlier comments about television shows including the one hosted by Shah Rukh, Bachchan said he had never attempted to show SRK in poor light.
"I merely transferred talks I had with TV heads purely to seek opinion and not glory. What appeared was incorrect and loads of rubbish," he said.
Bachchan also added that he would apologise to Shah Rukh hundred times if there was any iota of doubt in his mind about his (Bachchan) conduct and behaviour.

’Superstar’ Rajinikanth will shortly be leaving to USA to undergo makeup tests for his forthcoming film ‘Robot’.
Sources close to the actor say that Rajinikanth accompanied by director Shankar would go and meet Hollywood experts on various getups that he would don in the film.
With Rajinikanth’s ‘Kuselan’ nearing completion, expectations are high on ‘Robot’ will roll out from June.
Produced by Ayngaran International and Eros, the mega budget film would hit theatres in late 2009.

Here is good news for Indian Film Industry, of course for Rajini fans. The cost of Ocher Studios-Adlabs-Warner Bros joint venture Sultan The Warrior featuring an animated Rajinikanth in a full length 3D movie touched Rs.700 million, said sources from its financier Exim Bank on Saturday.
According to the source, Sultan The Warrior will be the first ever costliest animated feature film in India and the business is expected to generate at least Rs.2.50 billion. The producers announced that the film would hit more than 1700 screens worldwide simultaneously.
"It began as a small Rs.70 million venture, but the unprecedented success of Shivaji last year saw it zoom past Rs.250 million and has now touched ten times its original cost," another believable source revealed.
While Ocher Studios is owned by Soundarya, daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth, Adlabs is owned by Anil Ambani. It is remembered that actor Ajith Kumar has been signed to play a key role in Ocher Studios’ untitled solo maiden venture in feature film segment, Soundarya told reporters on Saturday. Shahrukh and Shimit Amin who worked together in Chak De, decided to recreate the magic in Shimit’s next project, but IPL matches, films and the TV show Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tej Hain has kept SRK busy and in short of dates.

Now, before you jump to any conclusions let me add that Shah Rukh is the name of our dog. And before you jump to any further conclusions let me add that I had nothing to do with naming him. In fact Shah Rukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house. When I bought this house it came with the caretakers and their dog! Apparently Shah Rukh (the actor) was shooting for a commercial in this house a few years ago, and that very day the caretakers bought a pup…, and named him Shah Rukh. Actress Shreya has come a long way from her beginning with Ishtam; she cemented her place in South filmdom with her role opposite Rajni in Sivaji, the most expensive Indian film till date.

The latest buzz rounds in Tamil Cinema circle is something very interesting. It is said that the Superstar Rajinikanth only saves actress Mallika Sherawat from the legal crisis that she faced after her undisciplined dressing manner on the stage of Dasavatharam audio release function, few weeks ago.
According to the source, Rajinikanth, one of the most powerful men of the state has advised the Hindu outfits that not to go for anymore protest against the actress.
It is said that Rajini told the protesters that Mallika was a guest of the State like Jackie Chan and her conduct should not be taken seriously. He also expressed his concern in this issue to the top political leaders of the religious outfits to control their followers.
After knowing this, Mallika conveyed her thanks to the Superstar for his timely help.
Earlier, the ’Hindu Makkal Katchi’ had lodged a criminal complaint with the police for sporting a revealing dress and sitting cross-legged before the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in a public function. "Om Shanti Om" girl Deepika Padukone is annoyed with the press for publishing stories about her romantic link-ups, saying they will dent her reputation and cause future embarrassment.
"The media needs to be a little restrained. I am a simple girl and from a respectable family. And loose talk about me harms my reputation," Deepika, who will be seen in "Chandni Chowk to China",told in an interview.
"One day, like any other girl, I intend to settle down and have children. How would those write-ups look at that time? I’m so glad I’ve found a man who comes from the same space and understands the pitfalls of sensational journalism."
Deepika, who was apparently seeing cricketer Yuvraj Singh at one time, is now reportedly set to tie the knot with Ranbir Kapoor.
Ask her why she and beau Ranbir went public about their relationship, Deepika said: "Because this is the first time I’ve actually and truly fallen in love. Being in love is the loveliest feeling. When two people are getting close they need time to understand one another."
Both of them will be seen together for the first time on screen in "Bachna Ae Haseeno".
Excerpts from an interview:
Q: Post "Om Shanti Om" (OSO) how has your life changed?
A: All this is very new for me. My father (bandmintom champ Prakash Padukone) was also a celebrity, but we were never exposed to media coverage. Before I went into the modelling profession, I did go into my dad’s profession - it was the expected thing. I played badminton at the national level. But I realised my heart was set on modelling. Movies weren’t even in my range of vision. But after two years of modelling, I started getting film offers I was only 18 then. I didn’t want to jump into anything.
Q: What took you down south?
A: You mean my Kannada film "Aishwarya"? I am from Karnataka and it was directed by a young and talented man, Indrajit Lankesh. And I was paired with a huge Kannada star, Upendra.
Q: Did you speak your own lines?
A: Yes, I did. I learnt Kannada in school. Farah Khan had already offered me "OSO". But we were to shoot a year later. So I did the Kannada film.
Q: You remind me of Aishwarya Rai.
A: I’d take that as a compliment. I grew up watching her. When I was in school I remember how thrilled I was when she won Miss World. Ash and Sushmita Sen are people I’ve admired.
Q: What do you and Ranbir talk about?
A: Well...we do know what’s going on in each other’s careers. But otherwise we try to keep cinema out of our conversation. We try not to get into one another’s workspace.
Q: It’s amazing but both of you started your careers in Hindi films as fierce rivals in "Saawariya" and "OSO"?
A: That rivalry was more media-created than anything else. Comparing me with Sonam Kapoor was so uncalled for. We come from two totally different spaces and we started differently. She assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I come from the modelling world. And our debut vehicles are so different. Fortunately, we were too involved with our own projects and had no time to think of each other as competition.
Q: You started with Shah Rukh Khan as a co-star. Can it get any bigger?
A: I hope it does. Initially, I was very nervous about working with him. But Farah and Shah Rukh made it very comfortable for me. We did readings together, we met socially so that we were comfortable when we faced the camera. He’s again someone I grew up watching.
Q: He kept making those uncle jokes.
A: He was just being kind. I’m really glad I came in at a time when there’re so many co-stars to work with - from Shah Rukh and Akshay Kumar to Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ranbir and Harman Baweja, who’s coming into films this year.
Q: You have acquired the reputation of being extremely choosy.
A: Yes, every project takes up so much of your time. You’ve to be sure of what you’re doing. So often I say no because I don’t have the time. I meet every director who wants to meet me. I do consult my parents. It would be unfair to distance them from my career just because they aren’t part of the entertainment industry. But the final decision is mine.
Q: How do your parents react to your link-ups?
A: It used to affect them initially. Now they’re fed up reading new things every morning. We’ve decided to continue with our normal lives.

Q: Did the earlier link-ups collapse because of the excessive attention they got?
A: Quite possible. At the end of the day it was just destiny that I was meant to be with Ranbir and we’re very happy together.
Q: Do you get time to be with each other?
A: We try to be together as much as possible. We did a film together, "Bachna Ae Haseeno". That’s when we got close. We had met and interacted earlier, but we didn’t get a chance to know each other well enough. He was busy with his film. I was busy with mine. We were under all kinds of pressure. Everything became very messy. In Australia, when we shot together we started afresh. We almost met like two new people. There was no baggage to be carried forward from the past because even in the past we didn’t part bitterly.

No wonder then that the actress Aishwarya rai - who’ll next be seen in Pink Panther alongside Hollywood heavyweight Steve Martin and in Sarkar Raj with hubby Abhishek - is in no rush to sign every film coming her way, no matter how big the banner. In fact, the lady is even known to have resisted the temptation of biting into several interesting international projects to spend time with family.

“Hectic is too small a word to describe the pace,” she laughs, adding, “Even before marriage I used to feel that 24 hours is too less a time and now it’s impossible to even think how many more hours or minutes would suffice in a day. Also now there is much more to consider when I’m planning my time. Lot more time management required. But it’s all good. I am fortunate to have a family that understands me and supports me unconditionally.”
Pony Verma’s also twirled around a non-dancer like Himesh Reshammiya in his debut film. And now, the young choreographer is leading the Great Khali through his steps in the wrestler’s debut Bollywood film Kushti. This is for a folk song Rang Rasiya that is being shot currently in Chennai.
Said a bemused Pony, “I must say Khali’s got rhythm. It’s so hot here, but he is not complaining and is tirelessly following my instructions. I am very excited to make an international figure like him dance.”
Pony, who started her career in director Priyadarshan’s Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar and went on to do 15 films with him, was presented this opportunity by her mentor. “I felt privileged but wondered how I would manage,” she said. “I mean, I’m 5’5 and he is 7’3. I was sure I would sprain my neck looking up at the Great Khali.”
Though not a WWE enthusiast herself, Pony said her family was ecstatic at her opportunity to choreograph Khali. “My dad was more excited than me. He never accompanies me on any of my outdoor shoots, but this time, he put aside everything just to come and meet Khali. My assistants are going crazy as well.”
Keeping in mind his non-dancing skills, Pony gave the WWE star some simple and easy steps so that he did not have to put in lot of effort. “It would be difficult to do complex dance forms like Hip-Hop or Rap at this point. I wanted him to look nice and funny at the same time. That’s why I selected North Indian folk dance moves, Punjabi bhangra, which are easier for him to learn,” she said.

So what has provoked the versatile Aamir Khan to again target Shah Rukh through his blog by saying "Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for.
Aamir Khan of course makes it quite clear that he is not referring to the film star Shah Rukh but to a dog named after the megastar in his Panchgani home that too not owned by himself but by the caretakers of his home.
The director of ’Taare Zameen Per’ also add in his blog that the dog was named Shah Rukh by the caretakers only because the puppy was brought to the house on the day King Khan was shooting for a commercial in the house some years back.
Before finishing up his explanations about the name of the dog and its history Aamir takes a final dig at Shah Rukh by stating that some of his friends even think that he bought the house because of the dog named Shah Rukh that came with it.
Aamir ends up with providing the readers of his blog with a chance to guess whether they think he is a serious fan of Shah Rukh if he has to buy a house with a dog named after the star.
Is this an indicator of an old hidden grudge of Aamir towards Shah Rukh that Mr. Perfectionist is dying to let out?

Kareena, who has signed on three big projects lately, including Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakht Ishq with Akshay Kumar, Renzel d’silva’s untitled film with beau Saif Ali khan, is thrilled to be working with Aamir. "It’s a dream," she exclaimed, "we recently came close to working on two films together, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Mr Mehta And Mrs Singh and Mani Ratnam’s Lajjo, but it’s finally happening now."

Recently we got to hear rumors that Deepika dumped Ranbir and they are no longer a couple.
But the lass has rubbished the rumors and insists that she and her ‘boyfriend’ are together and are very ‘happy’.

Well the title for Shahid’s upcoming flick is really strange. As reported earlier Vishal Bhardwaj has signed Shahid Kapoor for his next movie and Shahid will have double role in Kamine.
A source said, “Shahid will have two interesting roles in the film. It is also believed that Priyanka Chopra has been signed as the leading leady for this film”. This is for the first time that Shahid and Priyanka Chopra will be paired opposite each other.”
Vishal Bharadwaj had earlier worker with Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj Kapoor in Maqbool and Blue Umbrella. Vishal is hoping that Shahid Kapoor matches the success of his father in Kamine.
I wonder why the film is called Kamine, it would have been better to call it Kutte Kamine since there is a double role in the movie.
It was rumoured that Sonam Kapoor was going to play the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in director Aditya Chopra’s "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi", but the young actress says she was never offered the role.
In fact, she feels much relieved that Aditya Chopra has finalised Anushka Sharma for the female lead for his third directorial venture.
"Since the film was announced, speculation started about me being in the project. But I was never offered the film! I don’t know where this whole thing started, honestly," Sonam, who debuted with "Saawariya", .
"I did visit Adi a couple of times like any other actor, but not for any particular role. Maybe people saw me entering Yash Raj. Nowadays, even if an actress passes by Yash Raj she’s rumoured to have signed a film with them."
But Anushka resembles Sonam.
"Does she? Is that a compliment to me or to her? I know it required someone very Punjabi and young. I’ve just played a full-on Punjabi girl in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ’Dilli 6’. Even in ’Saawariya’, I was in full elaborate Indian clothes. Now I need a change of pace and grace."

Apparently, Sonam was offered the role that Latin actress Barbara Moriis is now doing. But she baulked at the amount of skin show it required.

Bollywood’s glam girl Sameera Reddy, who worked with Bengali filmmaker Buddhadeb Das Gupta in ’Kaalpurush’, says he has changed her into a serious actor.
’Dada (Buddhadeb) has made me an actor. He has taught me everything about acting. He has turned me into a serious actor. I consider him as my mentor. ’Kalpurush’ has been the breaking point of my career. I have rediscovered myself as an actor,’ Sameera told IANS.
Sameera said after ’Kaalpurush’, she has been taken seriously in the industry and been offered serious roles.
’Mira Nair offered me the role in her film ’Migration’ after watching ’Kaalpurush’. I am thankful to dada for that too.’
The actress, who was seen in the recently released ’Race’, plays an important role in Bollywood director Anant Mahadevan’s forthcoming film on the Maoist movement, ’Red Alert’.
She said she could accept the challenging role in ’Red Alert’ only because of Buddhadeb. The film will see her as a simple village girl who takes up the gun to fight against the system.
’I play the character of Laxmi in the film who is raped in the police station when she goes there to lodge a complaint. With all the hardship and injustice that she faces in society, Laxmi turns into a Naxalite to fight the system,’ Sameera said.
She is doing another Bengali film with her mentor Buddhadeb. It is the story of a girl who comes to Kolkata for a career in acting. There she meets Prosenjit and falls in love with him.
’This film is special to me as it draws a simile between me and one of the greatest actresses of Bollywood, Madhubala. It is such a good compliment because I have been a great fan of hers.’
Sameera said she is also doing a couple of films in Telugu and Tamil.
On being asked if she is considering a change from glamorous roles to serious ones, Sameera said: ’I am enjoying serious roles, but at the same time I would also like to carry my glamorous image.’
Siddharth could have bagged a major place in the Telugu film industry if he did not disappear from time to time. He was not seen in a Telugu film after Aata, but was said to be busy with a Hindi flick.
Now, Siddharth is back, starring opposite Tamanna in a Nallamalupu Bujji production being directed by Dolly (who earlier worked with V.V. Vinayak). Tentatively titled Konchem Ishtamga Konchem Kashtamga, the movie’s shooting started at Rama Naidu Studios recently.
A special set was erected especially for the film at Rama Naidu Studios and shooting is proceeding at a brisk pace. Shankar-Ehsan Loy are composing music.
This summer Priyanka Chopra has reasons to be happy for she has not one, not two, but three films in tow awaiting release this July.
The first film to hit the screens on July 4 would be the much awaited sci-fi flick ‘Love Story 2050’ opposite Harman Baweja. The second one (not leeser in hype in any way) is producer Afzal Khan’s ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ scheduled for release on July 11. It has Salman Khan and Big B as Priynaka’s co-stars. Next is Dharmendra’s ‘Chamku’ awaiting release on July 18 opposite Bobby Deol.
However, an industry insider has to say here, “One wonders if Priyanka herself would be happy with three of her films arriving in such quick time. Not just would it too be too many things happening simultaneously in her career, she would also have to work extensively on the promotion of as many as three films simultaneously.”
He goes on to add, “In addition, she can’t really be expecting to catch on some breath even in weeks to follow since barely a month after her third release, she would be seen paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan in yet another high profile film of hers - Drona. A Goldie Behl fantasy costume drama, the film is all set for August 15 release.”
It does not end here. After ‘Drona’ and Goldie Behl’s flick, Priyanka is sweating hard for ‘Dostana’ and ‘Fashion’ too, both of which are expected to release this year end. That’s too much to ask from a pretty lady!
Vidya Balan stayed put in her car for a considerable amount of time to avoid coming face-to-face with Kareena Kapoor. The incident happened in London recently when both the actresses were to rehearse at the same venue for the Zee Cine Awards.

After Kareena broke-off with Shahid Kapur, B-Town buzz had Vidya being linked with Bebo’s ex and, at one time, she was even blamed for their parting of ways.
Says an onlooker, “It is clear that there is no love lost between Vidya and Kareena. As soon as Vidya reached the venue for the dance rehearsals, she enquired which stars were practising at the same time.

Numerology plays an important part in Vidya Balan’s life. When she was put up in a suite at Hotel Crown Plaza at St James Court in London, the actress was extremely happy with the arrangements but the only hitch was that her suite number 1169 did not add up to a favourable number so it would prove unlucky to her. As a result, the actress asked for a change in room with a number that was numerologically correct and lucky for her.

The‘new look’ that Priyanka Chopra will be sporting for Love Story 2050... Turns out that the actress has gone red for this flick, and has had to coloured her hair several times - from black to red to black again and then once again to red!
The ‘look’, apparently, is the brainchild of filmmaker Harry Baweja, make-up man Mickey Contractor and hairstylist Theo. Baweja tells us, “Our intention was not to make it seem as though Priyanka had just landed from Star Trek. Love Story 2050 is a film set in the future but it’s not about space travel. It took us six months to zero in on the final look.”
It has been said that Kareena and Katrina are at loggerheads because they are vying for the same screen space, same films, same ads and all that jazz! It was even reported that they shared cold vibes at a recent awards function. Kareena laughs off the story and attributes it to pure speculation.
“I don’t know why people are making such a big deal out of this. There is no problem between Katrina and me. In fact, we get along just fine and she’s an extremely sweet girl. Even at this recent award function we barely met each other, so how can there be cold vibes? There is no war brewing here,” she laughs.
Recently there were reports that Kareena was parting ways with the company that handles her publicity because the same company was handling Katrina’s work. Kareena laughs off the rumour, “This is pure nonsense. There is no truth to this. For the record, Katrina and I get along just fine!”
Is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan still ruing the fact that she missed out on working with Madhur Bhandarkar for Corporate? Is that the reason why there is a stark similarity in the wardrobe of Ash in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj and that of Bipasha Basu from Corporate?
Bollywood followers may remember that when Corporate was being planned, Madhur Bhandarkar had first approached Aishwarya Rai to play the role of film’s central protagonist Nishigandha. Since the film required someone with grace coupled with glamour to be enacting the key role, Aishwarya seemed to be just the right choice. However, due to date problems, Aishwarya couldn’t be a part of the film.
Says an industry insider on condition of anonymity, "It appears that Ash always carried a secret desire of doing a role where she could play a corporate woman. This is why when Ram Gopal Varma approached her for Sarkar Raj, she was all for it. However, though this could very much be a coincidence, it is pretty apparent that Aishwarya’s wardrobe and look pretty much seems to be based on the one that Bipasha carried in Corporate.
On being told about the similarities, Ram Gopal Varma is hardly amused and instead replies nonchalantly, "In a corporate world, you do dress up in a certain way. You can’t walk in like a dolled up heroine or straight from a marriage procession. Anyone familiar with the corporate world knows that it is mandated for senior professionals to be wearing smart business casuals. This is what Aishwarya Rai also wears since she plays a personnel who represents the top management. What else could she have been shown wearing?"
With trademark Ramu humor, the maverick director goes on to conclude, "Whether it is Bipasha Basu, Ash or anyone before or after them, each of them would be seen in a similar attire in a role like this. I don’t see any reason why something as trivial as this should be a matter of gossip for anyone? In any case none of us filmmakers have invented the corporate look per se, isn’t it?"
Coming back to Sarkar Raj, the film is carrying an all around positive buzz and is all set to release on June 6. With the entire Bachchan family coming together, a hit prequel behind it, vintage Ramu touch to the frames and some well cut promos and stills, Sarkar Raj appears to be a shot in the arm for the filmmaker who has long forgotten his ill fated Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag!

The trailer of Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj which is doing the rounds of the idiot box, shows Aishwarya sans make-up in a very serious and strong role. The powerful father-son jodi of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan reprise the roles of Subhash and Shankar Nagre in this sequel to the Godfather-inspired Sarkar.
With the Bachchan trio joining forces on screen (not for the first time though. The trio was last seen together in the superhit song ’Kajra Re’ from Bunty Aur Babli), this movie has become the most-anticipated movies in recent times. More so because this is the first time that Abhi-Ash appear on screen together after their marriage.
The actress has a very rigourous schedule ahead. She will have to juggle dates between Shankar’s Robot with Superstar Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam’s next with hubby Abhishek. And if the couple decide to start a family in due course... well this ex-Miss World will have her hands full!

Aamir Khan is at it again. After taking pot-shots at Big B and his film Black last year, this year it is Shah Rukh Khan’s turn to become his punching bag. A few months back, when Aamir was asked what he would like to ask King Khan, he replied, "I would like to ask Shah Rukh how it feels to be No. 2." While SRK took it in the right spirit, there certainly seems to be no love lost between the two superstars.

In fact, Shah Rukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house. When I bought this house it came with the caretakers and their dog! Apparently Shah Rukh [the actor] was shooting a commercial in this house a few years ago, and that very day the caretakers bought a pup… and named him Shah Rukh. What are the chances of me buying a house that comes with a dog called Shah Rukh!

TV actress Prachi Desai, who is better known as Bani of Kasamh Se, is all set to shed her typical Indian girl image in her first film Rock On opposite director-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar.
"It would take a few minutes for you to recognise me in the movie," Prachi said.
She says the movie, which also marks the directorial debut of Abhishek Kapoor, would greatly help her in casting off the image of a sari clad, ideal bahu or daughter-in-law.
"It’s really going to be different! It is a glamorised role of a modern college going girl and absolutely different from what I portrayed in Kasamh Se."
Although it is her debut film, she is not at all apprehensive of being cast opposite someone like Farhan, who directed hit films like Dil Chahta Hai and Don-The Chase Begins.
"I know Farhan is a great director and this urged me to work even harder for the film. And, yes, working with a director-turned-actor was an altogether different experience for me. I feel he is a fantastic actor."
On being asked to share her experience of working in a film after her stint with the small screen, she said: "It’s totally different from shooting for a TV serial where you are constantly time-lined to work for a particular number of hours in a day and that too under a lot of pressure.

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has denied rumours of a break-up with Ranbir Kapoor , saying she was very much together with her "boyfriend" and they were currently "happy" with the relationship.
"Yes I have a boyfriend and we are happy," she said during a visit to Dubai as the brand ambassador of a real estate company.
Asked about her love life, the 22-year-old actor who has earlier been linked to Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, said as a public figure you had to learn to deal with rumours.
"There is always a lot of speculation but that is something you have to deal with. We are together and I refer to him as my boyfriend," she was quoted as saying in the Gulf News.
Deepika, who made a hugely successful Bollywood debut with director Farah Khan ’s Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan in 2007, is currently working on Nikhil Advani ’s Chandni Chowk To China , opposite Akshay Kumar .
She was earlier seen in a Kannada film, ’Aishwarya’ in 2006, after a successful stint as a ramp model.

Viveik Oberoi, who was to play an important role in Prakash Jha’s next movie Rajniti, has opted out of the project.
"In fact, Viveik was offered Rajniti and wanted to do the film. But since he had already committed the required dates to a Karan Johar production to be directed by Rensil D’Silva, he couldn’t be part of it," said his publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
"However, he has been an admirer of all Prakash Jha movies and is keen to work with him in the future," he added.
Meanwhile, Popcorn Motion Pictures and Balaji Telefilms Ltd’s Mission Istanbul, starring Viveik along with Sunil Shetty, Zayed Khan and Shriya Saran, is nearing release.

The actress Rakhi Sawant is not only a big draw in Hindi films but she is equally well known in Tollywood, too.
The item song is being filmed on Rakhi, Kelly Dorjee, Dr. Sivaprasad and 40 group dancers. Nitin is the hero and Priyamani is the heroine.
The film is being produced by TV 5 Productions and Sai Krishna Productions jointly. Amma Rajashekar choreographed this song and it goes like " Sayyare… Sayyar… Naa Saruke Bangaree…".
Sharing her feelings for her new experience, Rakhi said that she was happy to be back in Telugu film after a long gap.
And she is really happy working with Kumar as the director and DS Rao in the position of the producer.
Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, who is a big fan of Indian-American director, producer and writer Manoj ’Night’ Shyamalan’s work, regrets that she couldn’t be formally introduced to the spook specialist in Delhi. But she is happy he was being recognised alongside her.
The two film personalities were given Padma Shri Saturday in the capital.
"Never mind. It’s wonderful to see talent from India making a name in Hollywood and being recognised at home as well. I feel, with increasing globalisation more and more Indian talent will be recognised all over the world," Madhuri, who made a comeback with "Aaja Nachle", told IANS.
"I’ve watched his ’Sixth Sense’ like six times. When I was going to watch it for the first time, I was told I’d never be able to guess the ending. I thought I’d be able to because I thought it would be something impossible, which I’ll catch on to. But I still couldn’t guess the suspense. Sheer genius," added the actress who gave hits like "Tezaab", "Ram Lakhan" "Beta" and "Dil To Pagal Hai".
Madhuri’s husband Sriram Nene was also here for the occasion but he left for the US from Delhi immediately after the ceremony. Madhuri, however, stayed back and is now in Mumbai for a week to catch up with friends and relatives.
Delhi was tough on Madhuri’s health.
"I’ve got this wracking cough because of the humidity. And the contrast when I’m indoors cooped in the air conditioning and the heat outside is making it worse. Thankfully, I didn’t bring my kids along."
Before leaving for Delhi for the Padma Shri, Madhuri attended the premiere of "Jimmy" for her co-star Mithun Chakraborty’s sake. "Jimmy" is Mimoh’s launch vehicle.
"If you remember, I had done one of my best films ’Prem Pratigyaa’ with Mithunda. From the beginning he was such a gentleman, always very professional. Even if he was late, he’d warn me, ’Don’t come on the set before 11 a.m. tomorrow.’ Yeah, that’s what it meant to be disciplined back then."
In fact, she met another of her other co-star Govinda at the "Jimmy" premiere.
"Yeah Govinda too was very sweet. Fortunately, everything in Bollywood is getting more organised. We get ready scripts. So there’s more incentive to come. Ten years ago it’d have been impossible for me to come down to Mumbai to work. I wouldn’t even have thought of it."
