This is a one hall and one bedroom hut and built with mud and overlooks the majestic Arabian Sea near Vizhinjam. I’m sorry I can’t reveal the exact location. The ad has been conceptualised by the company’s marketing team along with Rediffusion. Bollywood writer-director Neeraj Vohra has directed the ad. This 70 seconds ad will show half of Aamir as a Punjabi girl, and the other half as a boy.

‘We are proud to have Aamir working on the ad and happy with the outcome of the final product. No other actor could have done the same so effectively,’ said Vikram Mehra, chief marketing officer, Tata Sky.

Director Priyadarshan made sure that Lara’s character of a deglam housewife looked as real as possible. Along with his cinematographer, Priyadarshan went to shop for the saris that Lara wears in the film. And he did not pick any designer saris, but plain, cotton, crumpled saris purchased from roadside shops.

On top of it Priyadarshan made Lara go barefoot for her role. She was made to do all the domestic chores that any village housewife does - fetching water from well, washing and cleaning work, cooking food on a chulha, feeding the goats and, not to forget, feeding her husband.

The new modernized version of Ramayan by Mani Ratnam will revolve around Ram-Sita love story. This entire hijack episode will be made into a film by director Major Ravi. The director, incidentally, was one of the officers who investigated the case. Major Ravi, who had earlier directed the Malayalam movie Keerthi Chakra, is known for directing films based on his real life experiences. Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal will don the role of commandos trying to save the passengers. The film will be made both in Tamil as well as Malayalam.

Kamal is planning to use the footage from his dream project Maruthanayagam that was started way back; about thirty minutes of the film was canned at a cost running into crores and then, the project went into hibernation. Now Kamal wants to ensure that at least some amount spent for Maruthanayagam can be used for Marmayogi.

Sources say that Hema Malini, who played a brief role in Kamal’s Hey Raam, has been roped in to play a negative role in Marmayogi. If this news is true, it will be her first negative role in an illustrious career spanning over three decades.

Insiders have confirmed that Rajinikanth is flying to the US for the first shooting schedule of Robot; this information was also corroborated by the Superstar himself at Tirumala. Coincidentally, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajni’s co-star in the film, is also in the US as part of the Bachchans worldwide Unforgettable tour.

There is a lot of speculation that she might join Rajni and the Robot film crew for the first schedule but Rajinikanth has said that he did not know of Shankar’s planning for the movie’s shoot.

Robot, like Kathanayakudu, will be produced simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

Shilpa, who won Big Brother last year, was almost a natural choice to host the second season of the Indian version. And she had a word of advise to those participating in the show.

"The winner needs to just be oneself ... that’s the main mantra," Shilpa said.The actress also emphathised with the participants as she had been through the situation herself.

"I’ll try to give them a little respite as I know that they will be going through a tough time. I remember what it was to live with strangers in a house cut off from the outside world with nobody to trust and vouch for," she said.Asvini Yardi, programming head of Colors, said Shilpa would be more like a mentor for the participants as she has gone through a similar experience.

CEO Kamat refused to divulge the names of the participants and said they would be revealed only on Aug 17 - the first episode.He said that the second season would see many additions to the first one.

"For the fist time we have included newsmakers as well as common people on the show. Besides, we are also introducing a half-an-hour live and unedited slot everyday starting second week that will be aired at 12.30 am."

While there won’t be any privacy, the house located on the outskirts of Mumbai would have no phones, television, internet, books or even a clock.The 14 participants competing for a prize money of Rs 7.5 million will be allowed to bring only essential items to the house and they would have to cook and clean the place themselves.

Participants are voted out by housemates and the audiences periodically. The first season of Bigg Boss was aired in 2006 on Sony Television.
