It’s not Salman Khan but Katrina Kaif who’s hogging the posters of Subhash Ghai’s film Yuvvraaj in Mumbai.
Given the film’s title, one would have expected Salman Khan (who plays Yuvraj) to be on the posters. But surprise, surprise. Sallu miyan is nowhere on the billboards and it’s his gorgeous squeeze Katrina who is seen playing the Cello in the posters.
The insiders reveal that this kind of publicity is unconventional, where an actress is given so much importance for the promotion of the movie.
Director-producer Subhash Ghai says the film’s publicity is divided in phases. Since ‘Yuvvraaj’ is essentially a musical drama, Ghai says it makes sense to have Katrina with a Cello on the first posters as it signifies the film’s theme - ‘music begins’.
‘Yuvvraaj’ has its soul in music, that’s why Ghai has ensured the presence of lyricist Gulzar and music director A R Rahman at the major functions.
It’s been ages in Bollywood since a women-oriented film or publicity was done. Few days back Bipasha Basu said that industry is male dominated. Now with this kind of importance given to an actress we can expect some changes in mindsets in our film industry.

Now there are rumors floating around in media circles about her latest lover boy being her Golmaal Returns co-star, Tusshar Kapoor.
A hassled Celina denying her alleged affairs as mere rumours tells us, “It is so strange that someone who has been alleged to have affairs is looking for love desperately.”
“I am just good friends with Tusshar and we got along famously during the Goa and Bangkok schedules of Golmaal Returns is all I can say. We worked together and there is nothing more to it. I simply do not understand this link-up rumour business!” says Celina.
“I am missing love in my life. I have been single for three and half years. Besides love, I have everything going great in my life. I have a busy year ahead. Tusshar has been very supportive and I really appreciate that.” Celina adds.
Sounding pretty excited about her upcoming release, Golmaal Returns she says, and “I think I have formed a relationship with comedies instead”. (Laughs) My co-star in the film is Shreyas Talpade and it is my third film with him. I enjoy working with him. I must admit that I grow every time I do a scene with him. His comic timing is so good. We used to improvise our scenes together a lot. It will all reflect on screen when you see it on big screen.” Celina concludes.

Bhansali is hoping to get the rest of the cast sorted by end of this month and expects to start shooting as soon as Hrithik completes his current assignment, Kites.

We would in fact be shooting a dance number for Kites in December. I play an Anglo-Indian in the film. Both Hrithik and Barbara are great to work with.”

Produced by Ayngaran International in a grand manner, the recently released audio of Aegan is rocking the market. Yuvan, the music director of Aegan has once again proved that he is one of the luckiest partners of Thala, who has given hat-trick hits to the actor.
According to Arunpandiayan, one of the producers of Ayngaran, the trade enquiries and bulk booking queries are overwhelming.

Aishwarya at Hinduja hospital last evening
The month of October did not prove to be very lucky for beautiful Aishwarya Rai. First, it was her doting father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan who had to be admitted to the hospital on his birthday owing to pain in his stomach. No sooner did he start feeling better giving everyone a sigh of relief, than her father Krishna Raj Rai fell ill and was immediately admitted at Hinduja Hospital. Sources say that he had only gone there as a part of his routine check up, but was admitted immediately after that.
With both her father who have been pillars of strength for her being ill enough to be admitted to hospitals, this is a testing time for Aishwarya indeed. Our team at Bollywood stars offers heartiest condolescence to her.

Its some good news for Amitabh Bachchan’s fans. The superstar has been discharged after spending almost a week in Mumbai’s Leelavati Hospital. He was accompanied by his son Abhishek Bachchan daughter-in-law Aishwarya Bachchan and daughter Shweta Nanda. Big B was hospitalised on last Saturday after her complained of abdominal pains. Incidentally Amitabh was celebrating his 66th birthday on that day.
The doctors treating him have been happy with his recovery. Dr Naredra Trivedi said that some final check up was done on him early this morning after which he was found fit to go home. Bachchan was seen waving at the crowd which had gathered outside the hospital. Thousands of his fans across the country are had been praying for the speedy recovery of their superstar.

Award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar is upset that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given his next film "Fashion" an "adults-only" certificate.
"Given the movie’s theme, I certainly never expected that the board would give it a ’U’ certificate, but I was sure it would receive a U/A certificate, " Bhandarkar told Tuesday.
Bhandarkar, who has co-produced the film with UTV Motion Pictures, describes "Fashion" as his most glamorous film. He roped in Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut, Arjan Bajwa and Mugdha Godse to do lead roles.
The board members, who saw the movie Monday in Mumbai, objected to six scenes including Priyanka and Arjan’s lovemaking scenes and Priyanka and Kangana’s dragging at drugs scenes. The members asked Bhandarkar and his co-producer, Ronnie Screwvala, to delete them from the movie.
As the director refused to delete the scenes, the board has given it an ’A’ certificate.The members refused to be convinced by Bhandarkar’s argument that the scenes being objected to are an integral part of the movie and that yanking those off would mean compromising with the realistic depiction of the movie’s subject.
"Although we had the option of appealing to the Revising Committee of the board against the Examining Committee’s decision, we chose not to do so as that would have taken a lot of time. Besides, there was no knowing what would be the decision of the Board’s higher committee, " Bhandarkar said.
"Fashion", which takes a close look at the other side of the fashion world, is due for release Oct 29.

But her remarks, "Apologies to the people of Maharashtra...’ and ’Hum UP se hain, toh Hindi mein hi baat karenge ’ wasn’t taken lightly by some politicians - the Thakerays in particular - who wish that the people based in Maharshtra speak in the local language of the people, Marathi. Jaya’s statement, they said, had a political agenda and hurt their sentiments.

And I also got a chance to work with her.Don’t ask who’s the lucky one."Now a third item song has also been finalized for Billoo Barber.

Not long back, Tanushree Dutta was replaced by Rakhi Sawant in ‘Horn Ok Pleasse’ owing to her problems with Nana Patekar. The movie here in question is Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision’s ‘Run Bhola Run’.
It seems that Tanushree had shot for the film for two days but was apparently not happy with the production company and had started throwing tantrums. The members did not take to this attitude problem kindly. So it was Out Tanushree and in Celina. Celina has already done a shot for the film at Essel World.
Celina confirmed that she is working on the film. She said, “I have started shooting for Run Bhola Run.I have heard so much about Neeraj Vohra and his working style. I’m looking forward to having a great time on the sets.”
Parag Desai, the official spokesperson of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision, said, “Tanushree had some combination dates issues, so Tanushree is no longer part of the film. We thought of replacing her with Celina as we have worked with her in Golmaal Returns. The film is fast racing towards completion.”
However, Tanushree Dutta said, “There were no problems during the shooting of Run Bhola Run. I had to opt out of the film as there were date issues. The film got delayed and I could not accommodate the dates due to my prior commitments. I had shot for the film only for a day and that too only one hour, and not for two days. I have very good working relations with Ashtavinayak as I have done Bhaagam Bhag with them earlier. We have been trying to work together but I guess it’s jinxed. We have parted ways amicably and will definitely work together in another film in the future.”

Now that Vikram has completed his part in Susi Ganesan’s Kanthasamy and Aishwarya Rai is on the verge of completing the first schedule of Robot (probably by October 8th) Mani Ratnam has decided to start shooting his bilingual film. The news is that he will start with the Tamil version first and will film scenes pertaining to Vikram and Aishwarya in dense forests of Salakkudi, Kerala; filming begins on October 10th.
Mani Ratnam is making this film in Hindi and Tamil. The Tamil version features Vikram in the lead role and pairs him up with Aishwarya Rai; Prithviraj plays the villain. After a long time, actor Karthik will work with Mani Ratnam, who made him a household name with Mouna Ragam and Agni Natchathiram.The Hindi version features Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in the lead. Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai is extremely happy for finally being able to act with Rajinikanth, who, according to her, is a family friend. Aishwarya Rai, while giving an interview in Gurgaon while inaugurating a boutique, said that she is enjoying acting with Rajinikanth. She said that it was a learning experience to work with stalwarts like Rajinikanth and director Shankar.
She also added that she has heard her father-in-law (Amitabh Bachchan) praising Rajinikanth’s humility, but when she witnessed it in person, she could not believe her eyes. She also added that she considers Rajinikanth a “wonder man”, who has managed to be so simple despite being the most popular film star.

Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu is depressed because she couldn’t head back home to Kolkata to celebrate Durga Puja with her family and, to top it, beau John Abraham is also not in town.’I wanted to go to Kolkata for Durga Puja. It’s a family puja started by my grandfather and we’ve kept up the tradition every year. The whole family makes it a point to be in Kolkata for the family puja. But I can’t!’
The last time Bipasha attended the puja it was five years ago.’And it was a disaster. John (Abraham) had accompanied me and the entire focus shifted from the solemnity of the occasion. We were mobbed. It was so embarrassing.’She has not been able to join her family for the celebration, thanks to her hectic work schedule.
‘Every year it has become the same. For the last five years, I’ve been trying my level-best to make it home to Kolkata. But it never works out. This year I’m busier than ever.’I’m totally drained out with rehearsals meeting and preparations for my Kashmiri’s role in ‘Lamhaa’, which starts very shortly. I’m doing my looks, clothes, not to mention my diction and action classes. It’s hectic and exhausting for me.’
‘Durga Puja is the best time of the year for every Bengali. I get into a major sulk because I don’t get to be with the family. Every year my parents and sisters go. I can’t. I get very lonely as I depend on my mom for all ritualistic puja. This year my younger sister Vijayeta is giving her exams in Mumbai. So she too had to stay back. So it’s the two of us girls at home missing out on all the festivities in Kolkata.’
To top it all John is away shooting in New York. ‘Normally on Mahaasthmi (eighth day of Navaratri) John and I go to a pandal (marquee) close by to pray. But this year even he wasn’t there.’Bipasha describes her relationship with god as conversational. ‘My everyday interaction with god is one-to-one. I don’t know any religious mantras though I love to hear my mom when she chants the shlokas and mantras during any puja in my house.’

According to a tourist who got a chance to visit the site, every moment in the shooting spot looks like a carnival of rejoice.

The movie enacted and directed by Kamal Haasan, features Trisha and Shriya in prominent roles. Buzz is that Venkatesh and Hemamalini have been roped in for special roles. With music by AR Rahman, the period film is all set to go to floors very soon.
Latest news says Mumaith Khan has been roped in for a special role. Sources close to Kamal Haasan indicate, “Mumaith Khan would be playing a negative role in the film. Her role will have some grey shades.”

Preity Zinta is set to impress audiences in a new role- as a demure Punjabi girl who is a war widow of Salman Khan in the movie Heroes.Asked why she agreed to do the film, Preity said, “I was at this phase in my life where I was refusing every film that came my way. I just wanted to do something different. And one fine day Sameer just walked in and narrated the script to me. I jumped one meter above my chair in excitement and said, ‘this is it’.
The film, directed by Sameer Karnik, features an ensemble cast that additionally includes Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Sohail Khan, Dino Morea, Mithun Chakraborty, Riya Sen, Amrita Arora and Vatsal Seth. It is slotted for release on October 24.
Preity plays Salman’s war widow –the sole winner of the family who single-handedly strives to bring up her son and keep the home fires burning. Being the perfectionist she is Preity made a dedicated choice to go attend Anupam Kher’s acting school and learn how to portray the character of a rustic Punjabi woman. Anupam Kher tutored her on how to imbibe the local dialect and body language.
Samir Says, “Priety who is known for her bubbly, enthusiastic self worked on her body language and observed the locals there to portray the demure, silent but strong woman that her character is in the film. If you ask me, I think this is one of her best performances to date.”
One of the challenges Preity successfully overcame was to drive a tractor. The film has been shot on location in Ladakh, Chandigarh and Delhi.After Heroes, Preity will be seen in Deepa Mehta’s Heaven on Earth followed by Jahnu Barua’s Har Pal. She reportedly also plays cameos in Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

It’s sure going to be interesting to see our sensuous star Lara Dutta on screen in her upcoming film Blue. After all Lara was given the Hollywood touch by the same make-up artiste who was behind Keira Knightley’s look in Pirates Of The Caribbean.
Lara says, ’’The film required a make up artist who could handle make up for under water sequences as well as special effects for the action sequences and give the character a ’glamorous beach babe’ look, that was also very natural looking. Nikoletta Skarlatos, who has worked on Transformers as well as Pirates Of The Caribbean, came very highly recommended by the International action team. She and Clarabelle Saldhana have put the whole look together for make-up and hair. They have done an amazing job and I am extremely thrilled with the results.
Is it possible for the ex-Miss Universe to look even more radiant than she does already? We’ll just have to wait and watch to find out.

Grapevine from Kollywood is abuzz that actress Shriya Saran will lock lips with Kamal Haasan in the latter’s upcoming film Marmayogi .
The presence of Trisha has already been confirmed in the movie and Shriya has been approached for a brief role. Kamal reportedly offered Shriya the part when she came to Mumbai to celebrate her birthday last month.
Reports say the movie will have Shriya playing a brief role as Kamal’s wife who gets killed in an unfortunate way.There is reportedly a sequence in the film where Kamal recalls his tragic past. This flashback would feature Shriya as Kamal’s wife and there would also be a passionate kiss between the two stars.
While Kamal has previously done a kissing scene on screen with Rani Mukherjee (in Hey Ram), this would be Shriya’s first lip lock before the camera.Shriya admits that Kamal has approached her, but she adds that she hasn’t yet gone through the script to confirm such a kissing scene in ‘Marmayogi’, which Kamal would direct himself.

After a dashing item number in C Kkompany , Celina Jaitley will now be seen in Golmaal Returns . But contrary to her glamorous image, Celina will be playing a very simple role this time.
Telling us more she said, “For a change I am playing a very de-glam role. My character’s name is Meera Nair. She is a South Indian girl who is studying in Mumbai. I have a totally new get up in the film. I am very excited about my role.”
Being the new addition to the Golmaal team, was Celina bullied by Ajay Devgan and other actors? “Everybody was playing pranks. Rohit Shetty (director) is the biggest prankster. But we had a lot of fun. The good thing is that we all got along really well. As a result the chemistry in the film is pretty good. I am opposite Shreyas in the film. Shreyas and I have very good comic timing in the film. Also, to work with seniors like Kareena and Ajay with whom I have never worked before was a wonderful learning experience.
“I am getting the same vibes for Golmaal Returns as I did for No Entry . It is bigger than Golmaal and will be enjoyed by all,” said Celina on a concluding note.

Kareena Kapoor is currently in Ladakh busy shooting for 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan and the gal is apparently having all the fun in the world. Since the actress is done shooting for Golmaal Returns in Goa, we asked filmmaker Rohit Shetty as to what does he have to say about Bebo’s powerful workouts? Kareena is looking as slim as ever even in Golmaal Returns and is power yoga the secret?
“A lot has been said about Kareena’s power yoga but let me tell you even when she was in Goa, she was having fun like all of us. I have barely seen her performing power yoga all the time as many would like to believe. She does work out in the gym but this whole fuss about power yoga has just been blown out of proportion. She can do without it”, smiled Rohit Shetty.
We hope Rohit’s statement will rest all the rumours surrounding Kareena’s disappointment owing to not performing power yoga in Ladakh!

The entire Bachchan clan was present at the occasion. Aishwarya Rai in a dazzling blue outfit with a perfect poise alongside hubby Abhishek, Big B with wife Jaya, Bollywood’s ‘Baadshah’ Shah Rukh Khan along with wife Gauri, Preity Zinta in a black saree, bubbly Priyanka in a short dress, Sonali Bendre, Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Adnan Sami, Neelam- the guest list seemed just endless.
Speaking on the occassion, Abhishek refused to tag ‘Drona’ as a super hero movie, and was hopeful that the audience would like it. He was happy that his entire family was present during the premiere and he was also thankful to his friends and other co-stars for being there.
Aishwarya agreed with Abhishek and said that she liked Abhishek’s work in the film, which she enjoyed. Ash said that Drona was more of a fantasy tale, which would be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, including children.
Big-B was impressed with the visual effects of the film and enjoyed watching it. When asked about the success of the film, Bachchan senior said that it was upto the audience to decide and he could not predict such outcomes. Shah Rukh wished for the movie’s success and hoped it to be as exciting as it promised to be

What makes this special is that we have Bollywood’s sex kitten, Mallika Sherawat playing the snake woman here and that too, with an intricate detailing and styling to get into the right look for the Snake Woman in this film.
This Bollywood- Hollywood co-production, ‘Hissss’, is directed by renowned Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch. The film, which also stars Irrfan Khan, has Mallika play a character of a snake that transforms into a stunningly attractive woman. The film is produced by Govind Menon & Vikram Singh.
A lot of efforts has gone in from Robert Kurtzman, one of the greatest special effects artists of the West, to get the right look for Mallika in this film. Robert has worked on films such as Vanilla Sky, Pulp fiction, Spy Kids and Evil Dead. The kind of make-up used is MUFX (prosthetic make-up) technology. Two make-up artists have been working on Mallika’s look and the material she wears is so slimy that at times it just sticks to the skin. At times, it becomes difficult for Mallika to move with that makeup and she has to be carried to the sets.

The Tamil version of Mani Ratnam’s next movie would be titled as Ashokavanam (a place located in Srilanka as per the Ramayana age).Aishwarya Bachchan will feature in the film opposite Vikram, her first time pair on screen.Ashokavanam happens to be the film of Director Mani Ratnam and the estimated budget of this film is said to be 120 crores.
Sources reveal that the cast and crew of the film are taking almost 36 cores from the whole budget. Apart from the lead pair, leading actors Karthik and Prithviraj are going to play the characters of negative shade in this film. According to the sources, the director has agreed to pay Rs.5 crores, a whopping amount paid by him to any other Indian actor(s), including the superstar for his earlier appearance in Dalapathy.
The Hindi version of this film is titled as Ravan in which Ash will share the screen space with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan.The Hindi version has Govinda in an interesting role and it is said that Amitabh Bachchan will also make a special appearance.This film will have Mani Ratnam as the director and Simran will be taking up the duty as an assistant director. She is planning to make her debut as a director next year and will learn some few techniques from the ace director Mani Ratnam.
Suhasini the wife of Mani Ratnam will play the role of a Devi for a few seconds in this film.

After Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Podukone and Preity Zinta, beauty queen-turned-Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joins the host of celebrities to appear on the cover of the fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue India.Sporting an au naturale look without any accessories in a new slim avatar, Aishwarya was photographed by ace lens man Farrokh Chothia for the October issue of the magazine, dubbed as the Glamour issue.The shoot was done in London that was the last leg of the recently concluded her father-in-law, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s “Unforgettable” world tour.
“Doing the Vogue cover was a promise I made to Anaita (Shroff Adajania) right from the time she joined the Vogue. Anaita was having a baby and she wanted me to do it before she delivers,” Aishwarya told from London. She added: “I was to do this shoot last month but I fell ill before I left for the world tour. So, we crossed notes and managed to do it on time in London just after we finished almost the last show of the tour.”
Anaita Shroff Adajania is the fashion director for Vogue India and costume stylist for films like “Kal Ho Na Ho”, “Being Cyrus”, “Dhoom 2″ and upcoming films like “Drona”, “Biloo Barber” and Imtiaz Ali’s untitled project with Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.The actress’ make-up was done by Denise Rabor with hairstylist Josh Wood who couldn’t stop praising her beauty.Incidentally, Aishwarya is presently in Peru, shooting for her Tamil film ‘Enthiren’, with southern superstar Rajnikanth.

Shahrukh Khan is determined to make his Temptations Reloaded 2008 tour bigger than the Bachchan’s Unforgettable World Tour and so he has managed to get in a lot of big names on to his team list.
He has now roped Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu to join his Temptations Reloaded Team with Katrina Kaif, Anusha Dandekar and Arjun Rampal.
Cineyug’s Mohammed Morani (scriptwriter and director of the shows) confirmed and said, “Yes, we have signed Deepika and Bipasha for Temptation Reloaded. But, I haven’t worked out their dance moves yet. And we are in advanced talks with Kareena. She may join us for the shows in Dubai.”
A source said, “SRK has fans all over the world. It’s great that Deepika and Bipasha have joined the tour too. If Kareena comes on board, which is quite possible, it doesn’t get bigger than this.”
I somehow think, there are too many ladies on the board, SRK should have included good male performers who people really enjoy watching… It would’ve been bigger than this if someone like Hrithik joined him.
